Fellow Employees–
Our 31st VtSHARES Campaign is set to begin on Monday, September 15, 2008 and run through Friday, October 3, 2008. May we all take great pride in the fact that through our combined efforts, $6,824,998.05 has gone to local, national and international organizations to help those in need and improve the quality of life for so many by supporting a wide variety of very worthy charitable services. Certainly our efforts have far exceeded any expectations imagined when VtSHARES was established in 1977 as the State Employees’ Combined Charitable Appeal (SECCA) Campaign.
In 2007, a significant number of employees chose to use the VtSHARES Campaign as their preferred way of making voluntary donations to charities of their choice – most of them local organizations. The total amount contributed in 2007 was $401,366.88! Thank you to all who contributed to make the 2007 Campaign such a success!
We have a goal for 2008 of $405,407. Your support is needed more than ever in these tough economic times.
The Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) is once again the host agency for this year’s campaign. Questions about the 2008 campaign can be directed by phone or e-mail to Katheran Fisher, ACCD Campaign Coordinator, at 828-5205 or kathy.fisher@state.vt.us.
Charities that would like to participate in the 2009 Campaign may call Nancy Zorn at Green Mountain United Way, 229-9532, for application information.
ACCD looks forward to serving the state’s employees as they endeavor to achieve greater success with this year’s campaign.
Thank you. |
